Title: 200 tdi valve clearences

In the Paynes manual it states 0.20mm anyone got any idea's what the thou gap is please?

Hi Nev 8 to 10 thou is about the norm for tappets, depending on the modal and engine type

Cheers   You know the thing that Pi**es me off is the Haynes Manual tappet adjusting sequence?
there is no mention of tappet no 1 in their book?
And last time i set the tappets i think i missed doing no 1?
Now the Top hat is missing from the top of that valve and i am deeply concerned as to its whereabouts
(hopefully in the sump) Fingers X'ed
but any damage and i will be emailing them
