Hi all I have got a gremlin in my alarm that sits dormant for days then wakes me up in the middle of the night.
Can I remove the alarm and still keep my remote central locking? Also how do I bypass the immobiliser???
-
I don't think so, I think you need a new unit.

I don't know about "remote" central locking but the central locking on the key still works without!
When I bought mine the alarm/immobiliser wasn't working and there was no remote locking (there may have been but I had no fob with the car!!) but there was central locking. I did fit an immobiliser but had so much hassle with it I ripped it back out!
Still got central locking, no immobiliser!

i took one of the wires off the horn for my alarm, that seemed to work, alarm went of but no noise.

Get in touch with Remote Key Limited @ Sutton Coldfield. The guy there is very helpful.

I considered this but I work away quite often so the motor is left for 4 days untouched I am concerned that if I simply shut the noise up then I will end up with flat battery.

It would seem my Disco has the same fault. He sits on the drive all nice and quiet for ages, even days then bam...!!!! for no reason the alarm starts going off, not once but always 3 times in a row then it goes quiet again. If I unlock then relock with the remote the cycle starts off again. Ive looked for all the obvious faults like water in the sensors or a dodgy earth and I can't find anything. I've come to the conclusion the Disco is just feeling unloved and wants some attention...lol

You could unplug the alarm at the back of the siren. Thats what I did when it kept deaffening me when I was playing with my battery!
-
I tried that but that triggered the alarm off...lol
I just live with it now.

:-k would happily live with it apart from getting woken up at silly hours, more importantly my neighbours do not understand either!!!!!

I know what you mean about upsteeing the neighbours. When I went on holiday last month I gave them the keys just incase it started playing up again.
