Heard some of it....... not the GnR of old.  Guitar is just not Slash  :( :( nor is Velvet Revolver......
Went to see them 2 years back, got fed up of listening to the support band and left as they were 2 hours late on stage.
£97 for 2 tickets, refunded to alot of people also got sick of his arrogance  :-> :->

Being slightly out a touch with up to date affairs ( my choice )    Is axel  the front man with a "new " band behind him ?

I am guessing by the other threads its not a full line up/reunion ?

Nah, when the band dissolved, Axl kept the rights to the name. Instead of being a band of equal parnerts, now it is a franchise owned by Axl Rose, with minions who do his will. I´ve had a listen to the record, and from my point of view, it is not worth it.

In all honesty, I have to admit that since I saw the Rio concert, with Buckethead trying to replace Slash, my mind shut down to the idea.

Very personal and very arguable opinion: prrrrrrrrtz!!!

Saw err them at the NEC 2 years ago with Izzy Stradlin helping out...

Much better than expected...

Can't see what the fuss is over the time taken to record it tho....Def Leppard spent @ 4 years when the drummer lost an arm

Axl lost the band.......

No, not yet, Don't know if i'll even get it, not really an 'Axl rose and friends' fan, I think Velvet revolver (well used to be Velvet revolver) was more Guns n Roses than the current 'Guns n Roses' It's just not anything without the musical passion from the likes of Slash!(Ultimate ), Duff, Adler/Sorum and Izzy(he was better than gilby) you just can't beat them!

well I bit the bullet and got a 'copy' ;) , not too bad - heard better - but some good tracks on there, deffo tell its Axl singing/wailing on it, and one of the tracks has a 'wannbee' Slash TRYING to play a solo..

Had the bootleg for a few months now and was unsure at first as i'm a big Slash fan. However, I have to admit it's one of those albums that grow and grow on you. Last one that did that to me was 'What's the story...' so the omens are good. Listen without the old GNR/Slash prejudice and it's a quality album. Recommended.

My 2c

It sounds like the van halen , dave lee roth thing

I went with Dave

velvet revolver sound ace the new GnR not so good in my ears ......

the first track I heard started off real heavy (good) then went soft (not good) then he started singing and I turned it off ....

I remember tapeing welcome to the jungle off the power hour about three weeks before it came out and thinking this is special but hearing the new stuff I'm not impressed.. [-X [-X

Looking forward to hearing my 'copy' as well
There was a big article on BBC1 news around 9.55 this am about how many copies it will sell in the first week and how rock music is once again making a comeback......
