Had someone email me about me disco thats on there asking if i would sell it with all the extras left on (listed it saying i was gonna remove loads of bits before auction end).
Told him no the first time, so he emails back saying he is happy to take it with all the bits if all i want to keep is me cb and stereo!
So told him again it wasnt happening, so he replies saying that i should do it "because its christmas"!!!!!!!!
On top of that i have people emailing me for a price on the bumper, which i am not selling, just removing from the vehicle!!!!

I hate selling cars on eBay. It seems to be a honeypot for numptys :roll: :lol:
I've had someone get quite aggressive and threatening when I wouldn't accept their 'cash' offer to remove the listing even though it had already met reserve.

You always get time wasters on ebay. I put my phone number on the listing when I was selling my mums Mondeo. All I got was an endless stream of phone calls offering me less than it was worth in scrap. When I listed it with no reserve but a starting price of the very minimum I wanted, someone put in a bid and then a few days later asked if he could come and look at it. Er, bit late now, thought me. When he came he didn't really understand that because he'd put a bid in, if he won the auction, he'd have to come back a few days later and buy the car. He seemed to think of it as if he liked the car, he could buy it then at the highest bid at the time, if he didn't, he could walk away. Eventually he agreed to pay £50 more than the current bid (wasn't going to go up that much IMO) and took it away there and then. We were just glad to get rid :lol:
Not just had bad experiences with ebay though. We put a trailer on there, got a constant flow of offers, one guy kept on upping his offer every time I said I wanted to let the auction run. Eventually I agreed to sell it for £20 less than we'd paid for it new, and within an hour he turned up with the cash, despite living 50 miles away.
There's also the time I put on a piece of fence we had. It was iron, heavy, and wanted rid, so we decided to put it on ebay to see if anyone wanted it. I put it at a starting bid of 99p, it went for about £12 to a guy in the next village who turned up in a big van and said it was perfect for his balcony.
Ignore the idiots on there, they'll get the message, hopefully it'll eventually go to a good home for the right price :)

Actually, I think that's the best answer. If you want to let the auction run, just don't answer the offers messages. I reckon I'm a reasonable person and tended to do the right thing by answering with a polite 'no thanks, I want it to run' type of reply. But the abuse you sometimes get just isn't worth it.
