Well the special track eats diff's for breakfast when they bite  There is not much different in the size you posted apart from the 265 is alot wider. It all depends what you want them for :?
Well my friend has fitted 5 diffs in 4 outing and 2 half shafts but he as got a really heavy right foot
235-85-16 Work out at 31.73 inch
265-75-16 Work out at 31.65 inch

The 235 85 16s are 31.73 inches high
And the 265 75 16@s are 31.65 inches high
So if you assume that 235 70 16's are standard, then the 85's are 9.66% bigger in diameter and the 265's are 9.39% bigger in diameter.
As to off road? i'd assume that they are quite good based on pattern, but a nightmare on road!!

Muddy Disco I think you have the sizes mixed around? I'm using here http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html to get the sizes

I HAVE JUST PUT A SET OF INSA TURBO DAKARS ON MY DISCO, 235/70-16 AND IM VERY VERY IMPRESSED, JUST WAIT AND SEE HOW WELL THEY WEAR NOW.

Two of my mates run special tracks, they leave the other lads on BFG muds and Khumo's way behind in mud.
As has been pointed out, there a bit orrible on the road, quite noisey.

235-85-16 Work out at 31.73 inch
265-75-16 Work out at 31.65 inch
Work out at = theoretical size not actual size
As retreads go the insa turbos are fairly oversized. I've seen measured figures for the special tack in the region on 33" for them and a friends set of 235/85r16 that are stored in our grage at uni measured about 32.5"
