Hay guys
i got a problem, just wondering if u have ever seen it b4.
fitted a new flange etc to the front axel (200tdi disco) and when u driver it make a grinding noise.
The thing is it has pushed the flange back out. the bolt etc is all in the same palce as when i put it on..

Can't see any pictures......
Sounds as though it's upset the preload on the pinion........ i also suspect i did the same to my rear 300 diff when i put a 4 bolt flange on that......
Why did you fit a new flange on one thats 4 bolt already................
-
Hay give the link ago again... i changed it because i brought it and it was allready out (damaged) so replaced it all the freed on spindle fine and new flange any idea
-
Did you have the old flange..?????? was it the same as the new one...???? seems odd, i am wondering if you've inadvertant;ly left out a spacer ring.....
-
yes with the old one and it is the same flange... but by space do u mean between the dust seal and bearing as in no5 on this diagrame http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1599308&l=70961&id=511066710 (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1599308&l=70961&id=511066710) if so not sure would assume its there as the dust seal has not come off

I think you need someone more qualifies than me, but you clearly have a problem....... just one other point, in one of the pics it shows the gearbox end of the front diff, if that is the angle it works at normally, the uj won;t last 5 minutes...... or give any space for articulation....

cheers mate but no its not the working angle its off the other end :)
