Post by: dan3411 on December 17, 2008, 15:56:37
I have tried every where an can not get hold of this piping between the slave cylinder and the flex pipe that goes to the master cylinder.

^^ it's a landrover only part... and they have stopped making them. :/

The damper was also used on the Metro I'm told.  If all else fails bin the damper and fit a V8 slave cylinder.  As for the pipe fittings, yo may want to save the fittings but the pipe should be standard.

 It's about 1.5 cm too short! no ammount of bending would make it reach.

will give fruitloop a call and see if his one will fit.

If not though what sort of place could i get some piping at 6 mm diamiter and 3.5mm bore?
Already asked around local dealers.. even went to the hydraulics place to no avail.

Just been looking at mine and i'm pretty sure that the bleed nipple is supposed to sit flush with slave cylinder with no threads showing, has yours always been like that?

Yea the original was the same... could it be because it is 1990 model?

not being funny but it looks like you have got your slave cylinder in upside down it mite be why that pipe did not fit

I think its more like someone tightened it up and the connector has got stuck and twisted the pipe or it was not seated properly,
well that my 2pence worth

No it is the right way up... bleed nipple at the top. I took the pick from the top of the engine bay

This is not even funny anymore.. anyway the situation is at the moment is.

There IS a difference between the 200 and the 300 and even potentially the early 200 and the later 200's

Top one is 300 bottom one is off a 200 (note different threads)

The bottom one appears to be the correct one :) (the one that solihull-mick sent me)

But unfortunately the thread is [!Expletive Deleted!].

So i am after the slave cylinder pipe off an early 200tdi disco.   [-o<

Any help is much appreciated

Have you got an old one?

Just chop the ends off and re-use them on a new bit of pipe....

apologies for my poor english... i wasn't trying to insinuate that the damage was done at your end. to be honest i'm not entirely sure sure what happened myself. it threaded in fine for more than 3/4s of the way but then stopped.. on unscrewing the end threads were damaged.. i looked in the slave cylinder and it appeared to be ok..
