Title: credit crunch strikes again

As some of you know i drive for eddie stobart :roll:. As the biggest haulge firm in the uk. the crunch has hit us as of 5 jan we are going on to 4 day weeks as there is not enough work to keep the 2500 wagons on the road. So with that in mind and the fact that both shmbo and the daughter both work for woolies me in for a good xmass.

Bad news mate hope things pic up for you soon mate.

As much as i moan about are place its not bad really loads of work on too much really very busy but they won't set on. Got loads of temps in but no one knows what there doing. Need to set on and train up staff.

All depots trampers are starting it first then by end of feb everybody will be on it.

Really sorry to hear that mate.  My driving school has just dried up completely too, I'm at college now so it's not a big problem but if I were relying on the business I'd have to sell the car.

Sit tight folks, it's not over yet.  For those without mortgage protection, get some bought SOON.

Chin up Tomo, I'm sure they'll try as hard as they can to protect their employees.

yea was talking to one of the managers the other day about it and they worked it out that either we all went 4 on 4 off or they would be laying off a few hundred drivers So at least they are doing something to keep us in a job

Everyone is feeling the effects. i lost my job 2 weeks ago. :(
