Title: back fireing out of carbs

help needed ive got a 3.5 v8 on su carbs which runs fine at low revs but when you rev it it starts to back fire and fart out of the carbs

Check the timing then do a compression test.  A V8 will happily idle on 6 cylinders or with numberous faults that only show up under load.

Check the mixture as it may be running too lean.

If it was running fine before its most likely electrical.Check each lead on 2 the plugs.Could b knackered plug,lead,points ,condensor (if u have them) modual on elecy dizzy.

hi mate make sure theres oil in the dash pots on top of the carbs as this can cause over fueling and popping back :wink:
