As long as they target the idiots and not make it into a witch hunt for all 4x4's the I don't see it being to much of a problem, although I think they could have you guys spending you time on better things, like stopping the theft and them in stead  :D

I tend to agree on that, but if it is causing a problem for the genuine users of the tracks then action should be taken.

I have no problem with the policing, but the repoting is a joke.

It does not say Illegal offroading it says off roading hence giving the impression that driving off road is illegal. Also whilst its highly likley that the illegal offroad bikes were being used for naughtyness. Firstly if they are in the back of a van then they are not illegal, seconly if they had no MOT then so what they are not being used ona public highway (back of a van) and if they were being used legally off road then they dont need an MOT, unregistered is dodgy sounding but not ilegal unless the bike was nicked. Are pure trials bikes ever registered?

Should I tax and register my ride on mower?

But look closely again in fairness to other press,it's those three letters yet  again BBC. Perhaps they may report things differently if they found out how many 4x4 drivers there is and just how much revenue for them we generate :-.

Actually I think we should offer support to the police in this action - As the post said it's the minority that cause the problem
I'd happily give up some of my spare time to assist the police to stop potential or actually illegal damage to the environment.

It may help foster a better understanding

Driving off road without the permission of the landowner is illegal. BOATs/ORPAs are rights of way and subject to the same laws as any other road, they just aren't surfaced. In other words, greenlaning ain't offroading!

Sadly, the BBC don't seem to employ many people who actually understand these things but instead seem to slant their recruitment toward London guardianista types who have never been laning or even bothered to research it properly. If they were to try becoming a genuinely national organisation (rather than whining because some of them might have to move North) then their reporting should improve dramatically.

I'm intrigued that we as a movement/hobby don't seem to have attracted the interest of reality TV. Considering that as far as Mundano man is concerned we're a bunch of complete nutters I'm amazed that Louis Theroux hasn't been seen sniffing about at meets. Mind you, if the result was a genuinely balanced programme then we'd come out rather well, which wouldn't suit the anti-4x4 agenda at all!

That article annoys me.  My father was the Warden up there for donkeys years before he died, Leith Hill inparticular (if you go into the tower you can still see mine and me older brothers names carved into the wall, well it was last time i was up there!).

That place holds alot of sentimental meaning to me and to find out its now being destroyed by the mindless ignorant scroates is rather upsetting!!!

But the biased broadcasting communists (BBC) aren't suppose to have people that understand subjects; and have an unbiased view with the correct information form all sides. They are there just to pedal what ever the recent scape goat clap trap that lets people blame society and social problems on the minority.  Best bit is we get to pay them £139.50 for the priveledge!!!

I look at it this way if they get caught then its their own fault. We  have it around here where thy just do not care and drive where ever they like and are giving all of us a bad name.

As for the reporting its neither here no there, bad news is never welcome.
