there is a bloke running 38.5inc boggers on totally standard axels somewhere. you also have to take into account the tread pattern, the more grip you have the more your half shafts will feel it!

bolts are on the insude of the bumper and is a bracket bolted onto the chassis :afro:

You can see the two bolt holes on each side of the rear cross member

1) There is always a risk of breaking a diff.  It's a Landy!

Depends how you drive/treat it. I've damaged 2x 10 spline diffs with aggressive 33" tyres and on both occasions it involved plenty of wheel spinning. Not the sort where a wheel is spinning with no gip and then suddenly finding grip and shock loads the transmission, just spinning with constant grip. Having run out of spare diffs my driving style has changed a little and I'm making better use of the winch, so far so good.

that sound ok, i think i will get a set of 31" will they fit on a discovery with a 2" lift and trimmed arches?

does any one elts have a discovery with no reversing lights?
im thinking of just putting some work lights on the back so when i revers i can just switch them on but i have no idea where i can put the lights as i don't want to put them on the rood as they will get ripped off when i go under trees, where have you lot put your lights?

Cheers,
Nick

I have two work lights fitted on my guttering either side of the rear door, I've also seen a work lamp fixed by the rear door handle that shines down nicely.

My Discovery has 31" tyres and a 2" lift.

The tyres don't rub on the arches even on full articulation and  the arches have NOT  been trimmed.

So i would check first before you get the grinder out.

Probably the most common tyres used at pay and plays are 32" diameter in the form of 7.50-16, 235/85r16 or 265/75r16 all of which are standard sizes fitted to defenders. If you are going to increase tyre size I surgest you aim to fit tyres at least this big so that you no longer have issues in the ruts made by standard defenders. When I finnally fitted 7.50-16 tyres on my RRC it was very satisfing that I could drive most ruts without grounding out. Retreads come slightly oversided so if you get a 31x10.50 retread then they will probably be around 32" diameter.

would this bolt onto my 200tdi? and make it look like a 300 or would i need a proper kit?

cheers,
Nick
