keep having a salesman coming round our estate trying to sell talk talk,s broadband and phone packages etc, are they any good any one got any experience of them :-k
-
We have had this package for the last 18 months no problems what so ever. Very happy with it
-
I think it was RangeRoverBlues who has had nowt but bother with them??
Think it was them
But i have only ever heard 1 person say anything good about them, and that was TL above!

Inlaw over has just moved from talk talk as the customer service was non existent after she had problems with the connection, they blamed BT, BT blamed talk talk she has gone cable now like us :D
-
We had them for about 4 months a couple of years ago. Customer service was rubbish, internet, we only had about 20 days in the 4 months and that wasn't all that reliable, and even the phone line went funny.
Changed to NTL (now virgin media) and we haven't looked back since.

Still having trouble with them.
Basically it';s going to be the same with any "non BT" company, I have a line fault that shows up when it's most inconvenient and goes away during office hours. If I make a 'phone call I can ususlly get connected, otherwise it's a total lottery (BTW if I have an assignment to be done I can never get connected, sod's law).
My issue with Talk Talk is that they insist it's a probelme with my firewall, or my software or the colour of my socks. They won't admit it's a line fault because they have to Pay BT to come out, I don't know th eins and outs but I can't report the line fault to BT, Talk Talk have to do it and it costs them so they won't.
If I thought I could get the BT homehub to work I'd switch back to BT but I'll bet money I'll never get TV via broadband here.
Maybe one day we'll get offered cable [-o<

One simple rule with alternative phone providers... Keep your line rental with BT. (Even though it may be slightly more expensive.)
If you do and there is a fault between the exchange and your master socket (inclusive) then you can talk directly to BT, who will fix it promptly. If you don't (and Talk Talk are especially bad in this respect) you could spend months without your land line until your phone provider agrees to report your line fault to BT.

I've changed from Virgin media been with them for years with no trouble, but only running at 7-800 mbps some times it was slower than dial up, the line is supposed to be upto 1.0 Mbps.
they even cocked my direct debit up and disconnected me (long very irate story) telling me it was a line fault and kept bs me with bumf about line speeds which I already knew.
I'm now with Plusnet (http://www.plus.net/?home=hometop) and did a couple of speed tests last week running at 1735 kbps.

yeh but virginmedia/ntl run on cable not BT line
my manager has the skytalk thing where sky does the phone line thing too and from what ive gathered he hasnt whinged about it and he likes to whinge
thing is when you pay 26 notes for phone, bb and sky it aint a bad deal is it
-
Virgin media runs on BT lines as well as cable/ffibre optic

Don't touch with a barge pole!!!
I went to them about 18 months ago, phone and broadband,to save a bit of money.
My phone bills increased by more than £20 a month, even though I was telling them that I hadn't made any calls!! eventually sorted that out (someone on their staff was routing their calls through my account!!
But the broadband!!! I spent more time on to the help lines in Delhi and South Africa!! I couldn't access my internet banking, ebay, the forums I use, or even the Talk Talk home page!!!
Load of crap, with terrible customer service

We just got the V+ box and kept the old box for the lads bed room, 20meg BB, vip telly with the Disney channels added, phone is " free evenings and weekends £59 a month, BB occasionally drops to 13meg at peak periods but not noticeable and thats with the lads xbox live, lappy, desktop and the Mrs with her nintendo scrabble
You can get stm'd if you download more than 4gig at peak time but thats down to about 5meg for four hours, no big deal for me.
There could be a problem if your UBR is over subscribed but this should be alleviated with the roll out of 50meg BB as users migrate onto this is frees up the network as 20meg and below are on a different system, forgive me I dont know what its called DIOS or something
Well thats how you explain it having a late Burns beverage and not being a techi chappy

Wow, I must be the lucky one!
Been with talk talk for internet calls and line rental about 2 years internet good phone good.
Only had one problem, a line fault, someone came out next day and sorted it was on connection to box outside so they paid.
Not best speeds ever but I live a bit rural, not bad considering.
Found customer services fine when I had fault.
Majority rules though all these people with problems can't be wrong like I said I must be the lucky one!

Mind you my mother had real problesm with an ISP of the same name. Got very angry and canceled the account after being cut off repeatedly, my mum NEVER gets angry.
