Does it build with engine revs or road speed?

If road speed, it might be a UJ on it's way out. If it has dried up, they tend to sqeal.

I would think its a UJ on the way out or, which is even worse, the propshaft bolts are loose, both meit having a look before you drive it again.

Does it continue if you put the clutch in while driving?

Stupid metal shield behind brake disc, real common, but difficult sound to get direction on.

Whilst stationary  :-k
I'd have a guess the alternator is on its way out

Take all the drive belts off and spin the pulleys on the engine, if any of them have play in them or sound rough. You've found the problem.
