Title: Scotland Tour
Post by: Remco on March 09, 2005, 09:04:21
Hello!

We will attend the Land Rover Monthly show at Gaydon on April 30 and May 1st...
After that we will drive to Edinburgh where we can store the models and stuff... and then our camper is empty and read for us to go and explore Scotland a bit!
We are thinking of visiting the MacAllan distillery (as we do at least one distillery everytime we visit Scotland) and do a bit of sightseeing in the northern part of Scotland as last year we did the southern part...
Does anyone here know a place where we can camp somewhere in the region east of Inverness? It would be for two or three nights and all we need is a toilet and water, so perhaps a pub where we can camp next to or so?

Best wishes,

Remco

Hope you enjoy your stay in the UK and get to see all you want, but be careful trying to camp east of Inverness...... its called the North Sea :)

Watch out testing those wee drams in the distilleries too

Good choice. Not stayed there myself but it's in a very nice area. The house won't be up by then otherwise you could have parked up in our garden. Next year maybe.

I know you've already booked a site but here's a couple of other websites that may come in handy:

Camping along the Spayside Way (http://www.moray.org/area/speyway/webpages/Camping.html)

Glenmore Caravan and Camping Site (http://www.aviemore.org/glenmorecamping/Default.htm) near Aviemore, about 25 minutes south of Inverness.

Don't forget to explore west of Inverness, there's a few campsites around Ullapool (http://www.ullapool.co.uk/Accommodation3.html), on the banks of Loch Broom, that would make an excellent base for the northwest coast.
