Maybe its me not bothering with news, but went to top the tank up just now (evening), and low and behold, diesel 99.9p again, I know for sure it was cheaper yesterday as I refuelled my fathers car, Morrisons are normally a good guide to prices, and if they have shoved them up, looks like bad news all round then

Crafty sods, Rip of Britain more like. Crude oil yesterday fetched $46.70 a barrel for delivery in March. In July last year crude oil was fetching at the highest price $147.00 a barrel and pump prices were £1.20/30 per litre depending on the different areas of the country. At my guesstimate we should be paying £0.70p/78p per litre in March. BUT I BET WE DONT, especial when Shell announced proffits of 200 billion dollars. We should all boycott Shell till they are not selling anything and then move on to others, no sell no profit. They would drop the price then.
Google Crude oil prices and have an interesting read. Rant over.

The problem with it, is oil is traded in Dollars! The pound is weak against the dollar, so they have a perfect excuse to claim that is the reason for our high fuel prices!!

Sad but true CrazyMac.
Work out the pounds per barrel and you will see the point. From $2=1£ to 1.3! Also don't forget the constant 55p of tax, and then VAT. (The tax went up as the VAT went down so it can go back up on 1/1/10)
If you want to find the cheapest fuel in you area, you can use www.petrolprices.com
If you want the cheapest petrol/derv along a route you can use www.keepmoving.co.uk (they don't do LPG... but the have out of date traffic holdups!)
Hope this helps.

It may also be because the work force at some of the oil refineries are striking at the moment, in protest about cheap foreign labour. It doesn,t take much to upset the pricing system here in the UK.
