Hi folks,
On the way back from Tesco last night my 90 decided to fail. There's a high pitched squeal coming from *somewhere*, but when I got my house I lost drive in all gears. Now, I think it is an LT77 gearbox, and I think that it is the old input shaft problem (I'm a little hazy on the details).
How much am I looking at for this to be fixed?
Cheers,
Lee

Easier to buy another gearbox and put that in mate, than rebuild the old one. Got a disco LT77 gearbox here which is fine, but crunches in second, no whines or clunks though.

If you are up for doing it yourself I have an LT gearbox in my shed. State unknown but came direct from the MOD all crated up. I am sure we can come to some arrangment if you want it.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the offer :) However, turns out that it is an R380 gearbox! I spoke to the guy who built the truck and put the transmission in. My local Landy mechanic said there are a couple of problems that it could be: one is the centre of the clutch gets pulled out therefore no drive. The other is the input gear from the gearbox to the transfer box shreds the splines off. Clutch is a lot cheaper to fix then the splines as that requires a recon gearbox
Oh well, good thing I love Landys :)
BTW, how is Amber now? (I'm pretty sure that was her name!)
Cheers,
Lee
