Title: Frozen hubs
Post by: Drift on February 02, 2009, 00:09:10
After a bit of fun at Bala off road today we did a few lanes, last one being the Wayfarer, well it was dam cold and snowing so didnt get out the cars much, at the bottom of the Wayfarer we called it a day as it was 1800hs so we gave White stones/pheasants a miss.

This meant getting out and unlocking the manual hubs....... unlocking .. wrong that where frozen solid locked

So being a quick thinker ( not really ) I thought  " who has coffee left in their flask " no one

De icer... didnt work, getting a bit desperate I thought, (three cars with two hubs frozen ) we all pee on a hub that should warm then enough  :D
Went down like a lead balloon, tried one more time using pliers.. the de icer worked after a while

Ahhh the joys of lanning

Surely it has either a central diff or selectable 2/4wd?????

Having only freewheeling hubs with a permanent 4wd system and no centre diff is crazy surely???
