Title: TD5 ABS fault help required
Post by: Arthur Daily on February 08, 2009, 17:03:33
Hi

I know that this subject has been discussed before and there are some very useful links on the ABS sticky thread but the solution for diagnosing the problem seems to relate to 200/300 TDI's!!! and not TD5's

Does any one have the details on how i can diagnose the problem on a TD5 once i know what the problem is i can do something about effecting a repair.

I have all three lights up on my dash and of course the TC and hill descent dont work, not to worried about the ABS not working but the TC is a must in this weather! i need to use the vehicle over the next couple of days and its snowing like fury here!

can i turn off the ABS thus re enabling the TC? or does anyone know any other tricks

Cheers Arthur

ABS, HDC and TC all run off of the same system, so you can't turn one off independently of another.

All you need to do is get the fault codes read and get the system reset.  Either it's a trip to a dealer or a friend who has a Nanocom or Testbook available.

Whereabouts are you, your profile is a little non-specific . . . .
