I don't think much of his '4x4s can be economical' argument though as all the things to make them more ecconomical can be done to any other car.

True; but the fact is that it isn't. The only other car that regularly reaches the age that 4x4's do is a Merc and they get lumped with us as being the antichrist to the world as well.

I've found that has stopped a few people in their tracks over the years. They say to me, smugly, "and how much does it cost to tax?" and I say "£185 ... and my brother pays the same for a 5 litre LSE", and the look on their faces is priceless. For everything else there's Mastercard.
