Title: no ignition lights
Post by: range17 on February 16, 2009, 21:07:27
Hello ,  i have no ignition lights at all after refitting my engine at the weekend ,the battery is good but the key is dead nothing at all .
Any ideas on what to check ,my only doubt on refit was the wires to the starter ,the earth is on the back and the live is to the solenoid ,if that was wrong what would it blow ?

Cheers Rob.

you should have 2 sets of wires with a ring terminal on sol connection aswell as main power cable

so all wires go to the solenoid post then ?

There should be a braided earth cable which goes from a starter/adapter(bell housing) securing bolt to chassis. Possably 2 thick black wires to starter solenoid and a thinner white wire which goes to the small terminal. Silly question. Is the battery connected? I've managed that before  If the starter wires were incorrectly connected on the refit you would get loads of sparks when trying to reconnect the battery.
