Hi All
Me and my mate are currently stripping a 3.9 v8 discovery es , and great fun it is too
However what I need to know is how do the rear quarters come off ??? I've taken off the interior panels and removed every bolt I could find but they still refuse to budge ..
are the rear corners ( the bits with the lights in) attached to the rear quarters can they be split ?? (I want these for mine) but we need the get the quarters off tomorrow to stay on target..
Help please ... cheers Lee ;)

lee, evereything from the doors back is spotwelded you need to violate the rear end with a cold chisel to break them.
keep an eye out, there are some spotwelds in some sneakey palces! hahahhaha

Clamp on molegrips, beat with hammer? Or does this not apply to bodywork?

I always thought that was grinder territory

I've been told that the rear panels were held on with bolts and sealer but they just wont budge
I want to get them off in one peice un damaged so they can be used again...

Sorry it's off topic, but with regard to the engine, is it:
a. Serpentine?
b. Any good?
c. Low mileage?
d. For sale with ancillaries?

I just saw two quarter panels for sale on ebay so I asked the two sellers the question and the reply was the same ...remove all the bolts inside and one out side then all the little screws aroung the door , then using a long blade cut the sealer bond while pulling gently on the panel working from the top down and try not to bend the panel. they both said it was time consuming but not hard....
will be having a go tomorrow now,,, :D
and boss theres no point you giving advice on how to remove stuff .........
not everyone has a 12" grinder and an axe
