Title: a personal opinion.
Post by: lambert on February 22, 2009, 19:58:59
after a day at the indoor show at donny park, i and my friend found ourselves wondering why as a bunch of like minded individuals we get so upset at our public image. given the number of people that jostled us, obstructed our progress, pushed infront of us at stands and were baisically just plain rude and ignorant, it is no great supprise that this perception finds it's way into the greater public domain.

now befor anyone moans i accept it was crowded and some bumps are to be expected but does it really hurt to say sorry?

I tell my kids good manners will get you further than good exam results ....

It's worked for me though I had both  ;)

But your right good manners cost  nothing...

I agree and I'm a teacher!

Plus a firm handshake (oo er missus), a smile and plenty of eye contact.

Couldn't agree more actually, thanks for being the first to say it.  Next year I'll be fitting Junior's pram with a truck horn and sidesteps   If you think the behaviour inside was bad though the standard of driving out to the M1 was downright deplorable, some of it from the stallholders!

Yet another day I was embaresed to be associated with some of them,  but that said it was great to see a few of you guys there :D

It really does seem that indoor shows bring them out. I've heard similar tales from the Warley model train exhibition, which is apparently infested with the stereotypical trainspotter types (same situation - the majority get fed up with a few ill-mannered plonkers damaging their image). Does the 4x4 sort have huge rucksacks which seem to be used to clear the immediate area by turning around suddenly?
