any ideas please
just removed a plug in power chip and noticed that the engine seems very flat!
it may have developed over time and been masked by the chip dont know
but engine starts first time and run smooth but has i live in on a street half way up a hill
if i turn off the street and go up hill it lacks power untill i get to the junction at the top 1/2-3/4 mile then it seems to catch its breath and run ok does run out of steam 50/60 ish
planning to do fuel filter at weekend and check pipe work etc
btw there are no waring light on dash and engine is still warming up when power becomes reasonable
also slight oil leal from cam housing above fuel pressure valve unit so what sort of job is it to take cam housing off
btw injector loom is passing oil but plug is clean at moment
cheers kevin

I'd get the injector loom replaced soonest - it's easy enough to do:
plastic engine cover off (3 x 13mm bolts)
rocker/injector top cover off (loads of 8mm bolts)
remove external injector loom connector (front of head, round black plastic connector about 30mm dia)
unlug loom from all 5 injectors
lift out injector loom and chuck in nearest bin !
fit new loom, assemble everything back together - at this point you can replace the rocker/cam cover gasket. Be careful, it doesn't take much to squish the gasket in the wrong place...........you'll see what I mean when you try !
Other things that can cause bad/rough running - dirty/knackered MAF sensor, dirty/knackered MAP sensor

I spoke too soon :( :(

Kev,
The oil in the injector loom problem does that - comes and go's.......
Change the loom, and whilst you're at it clean the oil out of the plug at the front of the head - the one that plugs into the injector rail that you'll be swapping out.
Personally, I'd not worry about the slight leak from lower down - probably more hassle than its worth to try and sort it out.

did the injector wiring loom at the weekend also cleaned out the plug at the ecu also removed and inspected/cleaned the
maf map and crank postion sensors, all found to be reasonabley clean, but still the intermitant fault persists and again there are no warning lights on the dash suggesting a engine management fault and the engine starts first time
any ideas
cheers kevin
