Title: 97 Disco remote alarm/fob
Post by: robbie on March 14, 2005, 23:40:42
When I purchased the car last week, it only had one alarm fob clicker. Main Dealer wants around £70 for a new one

Anyone know if they can be sourced anywhere else cheaper??

More to the point, can the config be changed in case someone else still has the spare set??

Thanks, I am trying to get some info from them but their website states just over £50 for the key fob.

It may not be worth doing through them as I either take the car down (day off and expense from Manchester) or send the immobiliser ECU unit down (unprotected car, work and mucky hands) if I want them to do it for free.

Or pay for the fob and get Land Rover to do it which will end up being around the same altogether...... but LR will find my EKA code as well.

Incidentally, the single button key fob is now no longer supported by Land Rover, according to the guy in Stockport yesterday

Not sure if he'll do it for your model but he sometimes sends out a bit of kit that you use to set the fob up and then send it back to him.

He's a very straight talking and decent guy that will go the extra mile to help out.

yeeh he does seem a good guy. The fob I have is no problem to him, he can do it while I wait, around £50, not bad. I will wait until I am passing and then pop in

Thanks Lads
