Hi All,
Oil change time again just wondering what everyone else puts in there disco's?
-
10/w40 I think.
As for make, what ever is cheapest or on offer!
-
i use Castrol GTX (Petrol and Diesel) 15/40,
i have noticed that my landys like to drink the cheaper stuff, especially 10/40 oil hence why i put 15/40in
-
clean oil
That is cheap! lol
-
I used to use gtx magnetec diesel 10/40 I think, only because my mate used to get it for free for me,but since my other mate gave me about a million gallons of tractor oil in 10/40 im using that and changing it every 5k
-
I USE 15/40 £40 FOR 5 GALLONS!
-
thanks for the replys lads i use asdas own and change it every 3-4k it can make engine noisy

Before I got rid of it- the cheapest, they are not exactly high performance machines. Whatever went in the tractors at work was good.
-
I use the stuff from the stealers! Its not the cheapest, but its still not expensive, plus if its good enough for TD5s, TDV6s and the like, its good enough for my old banger! (its 10/40)
Failing that Halfrauds own (I have a trade card) and just change it more often. Mmmmmmm, that reminds me - its due now I think :-k................ (and I might go up to 15/40 as I'm getting a little puff of oil smoke on start-up.........)
-
I've used ASDA diesel oil (£8ish for 5 litres) COSTCO (made by chevron) diesel oil or Halfords (have trade card) in my 300Tdi...
I don't want to start yet another long winded oil arguement but I reckon a chear oil (as long as it still meets the spec) changed more regularly is a better bet in older Landies than a really expensive oil that gets left in a lot longer.
I change oil and filter every 4-5k.
156k so far and no problems.

same philosophy as mine - only I'm on 176,675 miles, (90K of them mine in just over 5 years) and still going strong as well............ Proof's in the pudding.
