Title: turbo knacked!what the hell is this????

ok turbo went the other day started with a whistling sound then a scrunching sound as if a bearing was away,that went away after a couple of seconds,came back later and scrunching got worse and whistling louder.anyway got another turbo went to fit it today,took old one of and air intake side the blades are all worn away,look in air intake pipe from filter and there is 30mm outside diameter by 20mm inside diameter washer broken in two lying there!! where did that come from? anybody came across this before? im confused!!!!cheers gus ,sorry its a 300tdi defender

IS IT PART OF THE AIR FILTER,WING NUT THAT HOLDS THE FILTER IN??????????????

well i checked the filter,etc how the hell would it get there if fiters in the way!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAGIC???????????? Proberly lost and forgotton in history by previous owner and ur the unlucky one. Could have been stuck in the housing or pipe work??????????

Probably lost in history in the vivinity of Solihull and you've just discovered it!
