Post by: combatjohnny on March 14, 2009, 11:15:23
How easy is it to change the front output bearing on a 230 transfer box can it be done just taking off the front flange.
or do you have to take off the front casing.

You'll need to take the front output casing off as the bearing is pressed in from inside.............

Once you remove the oil seal there's a large circlip, remove this and the bearing will come out, it's a bit of a fiddle to get the puller legs to grip. Last time I butched the race which seperates the balls and got a small puller in.
