Title: Is this being caused by a naff wheel bearing?
Post by: Martin110 on March 16, 2009, 19:49:20
On my 110 i noticed today that only my front drivers wheel camber is off. I jacked up the said wheel and found play when you move it top to bottom. there seems to be a small oil leak coming from around the swivell housing sort of area.

Could this be a wheel bearing?

Or a swivel bearing?

Will it cost me much if i chucked it in a garage or do it myself as a sunday afternoon activity (preffered option)?

Any advice grateful

Sounds like the swivle pin needs a few shims taken out or possably a new railko bush/bearing.
DIY just cost of parts!

There is no play in the swivel house just the brake disc area where the wheel bearings are situated so i believe

Get someone to put their foot on the brake and check it. If it's wheel bearing play will go. If it's swivle play will still be apparent.
