Title: Breathers
Post by: V8MoneyPit on March 19, 2009, 11:35:56
Hi all

I'm going to use 6mm OD tubing for the axle and gearbox breathers, similar to original. They will run into a billet aluminium manifold on the bulkhead. Then I want to run a single pipe up the side of the snorkel. What size do you reckon this should be? Is 8mm OD enough, or should I consider 10mm?

Id run 8mm, there is not a huge volume of air that is going to go down them, just enough to equalise the pressure changes.

That's what I figured. Just wanted to have someone elses opinion

I'm thinking of running a stainless steel tube up the inside of the snorkel and have it protruding from the sides at the top and bottom. Trying to avoid a plastic pipe cable tied to the snorkel!

If you insert another tube at the same time, you could hide any wiring for roof lights and aerials too!

Good idea. But the CB is going in the roof anyway, so the antenna wiring won't need to go down the bottom. Because the roof lights are set back on the second cage bar, I was planning on taking it inside immediately then down the inside of the screen pillar.
