I fitted a new clutch about 3 months ago.
Now all of a sudden, the pedal wont always come right up and the clutch seems very high on the travel of the pedal.
What is wrong?
-
did you replace the fork
-
yes, replaced everything! Still works as a clutch and doesnt make odd noises.
just want to know whats wrong
-
A new clutch will bite higher. Has the clutch pedal helper spring come off?

Surley, a new clutch that is thicker would be lower down on the pedal stroke than the old worn one near the top of the pedal stroke.
The spring is still there and working well.
-
There's less freeplay in the slave cylinder with a new thicker clutch plate so it disengages sooner, therefore giving a higher bite. Just replaced mine too.

alright, sorry thinking of things the wrong way round.
I will replace the spring and see if it helps.

Not more replacement parts Matt?
The money youve spent on repairs could have bought you a decent Pajero which never needs new parts :afro:

Aaaahhh, but look at your avatar, paj clearly stuck in the water [-X  :P
-
Not stuck, just admiring the view :^o
the ruts wernt visable, so grounded out.

There's an adjustment for the pedal, it's two nuts tightened against each other on a thread. (Not a great explaination, I know )
I've found that they have come loose in the past and un wound, leaving a 'drooping' clutch pedal.
Just a thought :-k

Ta very much, turns out i need either a new master or slave or both!!!
And that adjustment could be very handy, thanks
-
I'd change both at the same time, as one will often fail soon after the other if you don't...

Changed the master and slave cylinder a few days ago, all better now
