hi,
just got a lfted disco, and nedd to put either a double cardon prop on. or one of these,

and wondered if anyone has any views or info on how good it is? its a fair bit less money but will it last? my disco is lifted 5" so have to do something. Does anyone know where to get a double cardon propshaft for the best price?
any thoughts gratefully recieved.

Double cardon jointed propshafts arn't essential for lifted motors
if you have front castor correction then you will need one.
If not, just get a decent wide angle propshaft.
£80 is fair for a propshaft but you can get a GKN wide angle version for £125 from any decent supplier.
What engine/gearbox have you got?
There's lots of different length shafts you can use, no one prop will fit correctly
The fact that the prop's you linked arn't balanced isn't good either.
Do some research before spending money on prop's. There's nothing worse than spending money on goods that turn out to be wrong or poorly made

Is it a 5" suspension lift or 5" total between a suspension & body lift?
Have a look at the front propshaft and look at the angles that both UJ's are working at on flat ground.
If the transfer box end has a much greater angle on it than the diff end then you may be better going for a cardon jointed front prop, to "ease" the angle and stop any vibrations.
There are a few places around that will produce a propshaft to the length you need as a standard length one probably won't be long enough.

If you're going to spend the money then fit a Cardan and have done with it, they work at alomost twice the angle of a stock UJ without all the stresses involved in high-angle UJs too so will last longer.
