As title really just rushing to get everything back on the engine while its raining and got to the last one and cross threaded it.
that will teach me to double check before ploughing in.
have tried a few times to straighten it up and tighten it but its having none of it.
what are the options to sort it?
will it be head off?
just as i thought i was getting somewhere :(

Which bolt is it? If its one of the auxhilliary bolts you may get away with drilling and tapping for a larger stud. Main head bolts are a bit more troublesome!

sorry should of made it clearer.
its where the plug goes in.

Sorry - probly my fault. I kno w people who have tapped the plug thread out and put a larger diameter plug in. You never know, soemone may have invented a tapped sleave that you can fit in!
Might be easier just to change the head if oyu have the budget.
Sorry I wasn't much help, but good talking to you.

You used to be able to get a plug thread helicoiled. ( was a while ago)

think u still can , has to be the best way of saving it
u may have to take the head off as u will prob end up getting bits of alloy down the bore
with the head of its a 10 min job to tap a bigger thread and insert a helicoll

Hi it can be helicoiled while still on the motor using a bull nose helicoil tap (14mm at bottom going to bigger size for helicoil) put grease on the tap this stops most of the alloy swarf going into the chamber then give it a good blow with an airline before fitting plug we've done this loads of times at work hope this helps

think its gonna have to be done properly
where would the best place be to get it done?
-
Any garage should be competant enough to do it

been there before, sorry to here about it.ihave an adjustable thread cleaner for plug threads if you want to borrow it.its the entrance threads that you damage and what this tool does is go into the plug hole, you then wind it out to align with the lower threads and then wind it out of the hole cleaning and realigning the threads on its way out.it does work

Get an old plug and cut one quarter of it away, sharper the better, then carefully drive it in as a thread chaser, youi may need to hold it firmly in a soket so break the top off it too. I've don e this successfullyn in the past. If that fails then head off and helicoil.
