Title: NO Brake Pedal
Post by: gaz1963 on April 07, 2009, 15:22:45
Hi Everyone
I am new to this site had a snoop before registering, noticed there is a big tech/help area.
So here goes. fingers crossed

I have a 300Tdi disco with ABS on a "M" 1994, it has a 3" lift. The other month whilst off-roading at the local club site i nipped and spilt the extended broke hose to the front offside wheel this causing me to loss quite a bit of fluid by the time i got it the few mile back home, but since changing the said hose i am unable to get a good pedal again its been bleed many times by different people and every way possibly (pressured, with engine running, starting from different wheels ) but with NO LUCK :'(  After bleeding the system the pedal seems fine but it soon starts to creep down even when stationary or whether the engine is running or not.
I have replaced the master cylinder (new)
Checked the bearings
Replaced the brake pads
I have a good suction from the vacuum pump (almost drags you down the pipe )
So if anyone can suggest or knows this fault pleaseeeeeeeeeee help as now pulling hair out and need to get and play again as having withdrawals

TA Gary

The only thing is have you got another small leak somewhere? Is it drawing just the slightest amount of air in somewhere down the line?

Have you tried a pressure bleed system?

Check the brake pipe union joints on the pipe you replaced, make sure they are tight.

If you have ABS there may be a more involved bleeding problem. Our RRC (I know! Wrong forum!) revisited a local garage three times before I gave up, bought a manual and did it myself. Not that difficult just follow the steps to the letter.

good luck

just to check.... you are bleeding all 3 bleed nipples on the front calipers arent you and in the correct order.

i only ask this because i replaced the flexi hoses on my 200 tdi and couldnt get a good pedal until i looked again and found the 3rd nipple on top of the caliper!!

always something dodgy about a 3rd nipple, i think!! lol
