I'm having my 110 remapped at the moment and the place thats doing it have wiped the ecu but now are having trouble reprograming it.
They say that they will sort it no matter what but i was just wondering if anyone had this problem aswell
-
Afraid not, my dads td5 and tdci were both done by twisted performance and had no issues with them.

You can sometimes have problems.... I've only ever had two ECU's fail during a write, but not hard to sort out. If done 'properly' the ECU will refuse to talk as basically locks up - and needs to be put back into a virgin state. Any one who does remapping work should know this. 99.999% of the time, it is not game over for the ECU.
Depends on where you take it....

Well it took them 3 days.
It was down to a fault in there box that they plug in to the ecu.
They have bend over backwards and sorted it.
The 110 pulls much better than before.

Did you get the intercooler done as well? One of the work's Td5 90's got tweaked by JSF in Norwich and it absolutely flys along now. It's now great fun to see the look of suprise and dismay on the faces of chav's in their suped up Corsas that you leave standing at the lights
Unfortunately as my work's Td5 is an older model it apparently can't be tweaked to the same standard

Hrmm... I think I'd disagree slightly. You can get the same results, but you need to use a different method. Any one who says you can't remap a none flash ECU is lying, or slightly lacking in knowledge.

i agree with ian and have the proof (done by him)
when it starts but thats another not related story

I know JSF have only recently started to offer the remap so maybe it is lack of experiance? Personally, despite the fun that can be had upsetting boy racers I think it was a waste of money that could of been spent on more extreme tyrse and/or a rear diff locker as we always lose traction before power

had a good try with the 110 today and it's going back as bogs down to much at low revs.
Think i'm going the custom remap route now

Shouldn't be any worse than standard - although if the top end is improved, sometimes the bottom end suddenly feels like it lacking.
When they did the remap, did they do a full diagnostic check before they did anything?
Things like faulty AFM's can make the bottom end flat.
What level of tune did you have?? - stage 1 to suit an other wise standard Defender?? - or have you had anything else done??

The only other mod was an egr removel kit which has been on a while. As fair as i know they checked for faults before remaping it.
Having driven it about and getting used to it the bogging down i thought was bad is'nt really that bad at all.
