Title: Door hinges
Post by: V8MoneyPit on April 09, 2009, 09:41:07
Hi all

I made a sketch of this before I took them off, but it's dissapeared!

Which way up should the door hinges go? The pin is further away from the door on one edge than the other. I seem to remember the top should be leaning away from the door on both top and bottom hinges, but I'd like confirmation before I bolt them on.

TIA.

Well, just to confuse you even more........ on my 90 and my dads 110, they are both vertical and not closer at top or bottom

Hmmm  :-k That's interesting. I've got a top hinge in my greasy little mit here and the pin is definately on the skew. All 4 are the same, but handed, if you know what I mean.

One side is about 18mm from the door face to the centre of the pin. The other end is about 12mm.

I certainly remember the old ones being like this too. As I say, I did a sketch to remind me, but........ !!

Hmmmmmm, in that case i imagine the pin should be leaning towards the door as it would promote it to shut itself rather than open itself if that makes sense.
But your guess is as good as mine steve   ;)

You're right! Just spoken to Dom at lrseries (very helpful chap!) and both pins should lean inwards at the top.
