Can anyone please help, in January my Mpi was sent to a friends to store and today i have found out that it has suddenly disappeared from his property over the weekend. Is there anything that i can do as it hadn't got vehicle insurance due to it needing major engine repairs and other bits.
All the advice that can help will be more than greatful as i am now really pi**ed off

I presume you have notified the Police?
And did you realise that you can get insurance whilst a vehicle is "laid up". Quite common in the classic and kit car world.
-
All depends, if he was a motor trader or such like then he would/should have insurance to cover vehicles under his/her care?
Otherwise if it was private land then there is nothing that can be done, not unless they find it and find out who did it.
Obviously you have contacted the police?

We r on the phone to the police now and they are going to look into it for me now and i didn't know that i could get insurance for it whilst it was laid up
-
Do you have any pics of it so we can keep an eye out?
When you say a friends, was it just some random, or was it there to be worked on?
-
If you haven't already - you really need to speak to him/her.

Already done that and not getting anywhere coz my partner and this person are having issues with each other as it is
-
if there are having issues, would it be a feasable idea that the person storing it has moved the car to somewhere else for some reason? :-k
-
Well he is adament that he hasn't done anything with it, they went away for easter and he said it was there when they left on friday and gone today when they got back so i really don't know what to believe, all i know is it can't be driven as the engine is knackered, it has no fuel in it and only 1 brake caliper so anyone who does try to drive it must have a death wish

In that case, I'd agree with the others - inform the Police of a stolen car. :police:

Already done it, got my crime number so now its just a case of waiting to see if they come up with anything

My husband did tell you that you had 28 days in which to remove the vehicle, due to our Housing Association complaining. That was on the 23rd of Feb. I doubt it was them that moved it due to it being a holiday weekend and also no note through the door but still, you had ample opportunity to take it back.
I do not appreciate the inference that we have done away with it, and we are happy to cooperate with the police, as he has in fact already done. They have said that it is unlikely to be dealt with as a police matter anyway, it is a case for civil courts.
Plus we are neither of us motor traders, the vehicle was here on private property so not covered by any of our own insurance. I didn't think you could have vehicle insurance when neither you nor your partner have valid driving licenses anyway? I may be wrong there though, I think you can get it if you at least have provisional.

Ok then, if they aint going to do anything then why have they asked me loads of questions and said that they are going to do everything they can to find it, one thing they did say is that they are going to check every scrap yard in Norfolk.

Can you take this up using the PM system please... No need for this to be broadcasted to all...
Thank you
