Title: adjustable panhard rod
Post by: Saffy on April 14, 2009, 14:26:50
I see paddocks and such like sell replacement panhard rods which are adjustable. What is the purpose of the adjustment?

To reposition the axle after a suspension lift.

If you do the maths it's not worth it unless you have a 6" lift, the amount of displacement sideways is negligeable unless you have a serious lift.  I thought about buying one because my axle seesm to be slightly off to one side, that's just the production tolerance.

I HAVE 4" LIFTS ON BOTH MY LANDIES,THE HANDLING WAS AWFUL TILL I FITTED ADJUSTABLE PANHARD RODS. I SAY 4" AND ABOVE NEEDS ONE BUT A 2" SHOULD BE FINE WITHOUT ONE BUT I LIKE TO PUT EVERYTHING BACK AS IT SHOULD BE AFTER A LIFT.  :D
