yhe had my disco brocken into lastnight. my own fault leaving it on show but y'know how it is I was only gone a minit and all that jazz.
so what they got
mp3 usb sd card radio
tomtom
power inverter
incline meter
brand new midland cb
few tools
sony mp3 player
loads of cds
they even took my cuby box of the center console
my only saving grace was that the central locking for the back door is broken and I have a dog guard so they never got all my tools and offroading gear.
I am looking to replace the items so if you know any going cheep Id be greatful.
most important is the tomtom I need a tomtom for work.
Keep it out of sight!!!!

gutted to hear about this mate, but as the saying goes. Leave it on show, it will go!
If I hear of anyone selling any stuff cheap I will let ya know. Might even be your own stuff being sold. Have a look on ebay. did you mark any of your stuff with a ultra violet pen or anything incase it gets recovered?

I feel for you mate, but if it's any consolation buddy I had a crap day aswell...!!!!! Went on a short 40 mile trip to collect my latest eBay bargain and she started overheating on the way there (looks like the rad is shot) and the transfer box gave up on the trip back...!!! and I had to come home on a flatbed..

none of my stuf is marked and I just relised the recept for the £90 midland cb is still in there so they could take it back to the store I guess I mean what avrage joe wants a cb nowadays. I was wondering I have never made a claim on any insurance in my whole life the only thing I need replacing realy is the cb and tomtom, so say around £200 would that efect my insurance for next year much ?? At the moment im paying £300 fully comp for 12 months
-
hahaa im sory king but I feal a bit better now 8-[ so no ebay goodies then ??
thanks guys.

Well thankfully the Transfer box went on the way home after I'd picked up said eBay purchase so that was a positive thing...lol
As for claiming on your insurance I'd think very carefully before doing so. It used to be that if you made a claim you NCB would drop by 30% if not protected. So it would take you another 3 years to get back to where you are now..!!!! obviously this all depends on how much NCB you currently have.
Hope that makes sence...

As KW says, it depends on how much NCB you already have.
If you are on full NCB, maybe you have protected NCB so it wouldn't reduce next year ?
Another thing to think about is how much you have to pay out yourself on any claim. You may have to fork out the first £100- 250 anyway so it's probably not worth claiming this time. Insurance companies never like to pay out and may even contest the fact that you left your stuff on show. I guess the CB aerial was on show too, so was a clue to the thieving gits to investigate further.
I am sorry that you have been an innocent victim of the lowlife scum that is so prevalent in today's society.
Come the revolution, ( it's on the way ) they will all be against the wall !
On a brighter note, there are a few bargains on the TOMTOM website for refurbished units with up to date maps and 12 months warranty included, so that may be worth a look.

UNless they start chopping their theiving hands off we will never be able to have anything nice. My advice is if it's parked on your property then get a CCTV, most thefts are opportunistic and on the spur of the moment they won't take the chance. If most of the time your truck is emptied of stuff work nicking then someone must have thought it was christmas when they found all that lot in there.
Real sorry to hear it though. Just picked up a Garmin for £85 brand new in Halfrauds and they do a cheaper on at £65. WHy would anyone buy a nicked Sat Nav when they are that cheap :?

It's sold in a pub for a quick £10 to feed their drug/drink habit.
I had one nicked from my truck's cab whilst I was working at the back. They only took the unit itself, they left the holder and charging cable (the idiots could have got another fiver for those) The noise of the diesel forktruck that was loading me drowned out the sound of breaking glass. They nicked my satnav and 2 mobile phones. That was the very first (and last) time I left it on show. A quick reverse into a firm's gateway to load just one pallet... 3 mins max. They must've seen it glowing in the dark as I approached the firm..
I did get paid out on my household insurance though after explaining in words of one syllable that I had not left the vehicle unattended and that if I had seen them and tried to stop them I would have probably been phoning the insurance company from a hospital bed.
-
Then you have to blame the ****heads that buy a sat nav for £10 from "a bloke in a pub", if no-one bought dodgy gear no-one would nick it.
A few years ago a mate who was a DJ at the time had his house broken into, his TV, hi-fi and all his PA, decks etc went and they nicked his car to shift it all.
About a week later the car was found with all his DJ gear back in it (it had been seen empty at the same location). He reckons whoever nicked it thought they'd be able to make a fortune but no-one they tried to sell it to would touch it, knowing full-well that it was someone else's livelyhood that had been nicked.
If only "the man in the street" had the same scruples there would be no market for a nicked satnav.

Sorry to hear about the theft.
I think I had a lucky escape: I went out to the LR last night and discovered it was unlocked. And the load-cover was rolled back...
Everything present and correct though. [-o<
...and this morning I came downstairs and found the front door unlocked 8-[

try using a dummy name and email address and use a comparison insurance web site and put in a claim in the last 3 years as yes and see what difference it makes.

You muppet, but I have been away for a weekend and come home to findmy car unlocked. also just the other day a neighbour knocked on my door to hand back my car keys I left in the door. Easily done when thinking about other things to do etc. I am looking into CCTV as a few unsavory characters have moved in around the corner. Grrr.

I am not going to bother with the insurance now I have nerly replaced most of the things. just a tomtom and cb now. fixed all the damage. I have a cctv but it is absolutly useless in the dark even with a light on from a porch. I was thinking into upgrading it as its old now are the newer ones any beter becase you can get infrared ones now I think ?? anyone know a good value cctv to recomend ? its drugs it always is and they go to any lenghts to get it, cctv or not they will take it. I mean to sit in my car and rip out the cuby box will make noise that to me is saying desprate and im not botherd. Its a shame realy, 7 years at this adress and never has ther been anythink like this.
