hello,
ive just been reading the local online news, i stumbled across this
The Desert Project is a newly launched operation which aims to:
* Create a legal off-road area for enthusiasts, which will also incorporate teaching facilities to train youngsters in road safety, motorbike riding and maintenance of bikes.
* Build a new industrial estate which will create hundreds of jobs in the area.
* Restore the environment and create a nature reserve, linking the site to neighbouring Sherwood Forest and provide a variety of habitats for local wildlife
the council, create new off-road site? i think i like the sound of that, cant figure out why we need another industrial estate, that seems to be the answer for everything at the moment " theres some waste land there, lets just build an industrial estate on it "
well thats some good news for the week :) well done mansfield council
cheers kieran
just read that its for bikers only :( still, a good idea

I'd get on to them and challenge that as discrimination and point out that kids need to learn about cars too....if nothing else they might let off road carts on there ;)

The obvious lines to take would be:
Will they be letting quads in? If so, why not cars?
Cars make a good deal less noise than motocross bikes!
I would be prepared for a lot of nimbyism, using noise and "pollution" as their arguments. These being the same nimbys who jet off to Paris for the weekend thereby producing more noise and CO2 than my truck does in a year...

Build ANOTHER industrial unit so tthere are more empty units :? :?
Some building finished 6/8 months ago and are still empty and there are many in the area also empty
Suppose itt all comes down to money and how much it will cost to use as people were using it for free

two stroke motorcycles are some of the most polluting engines in the world , around the world there are many places where they are banned . but in these places you can still drive a big V8 :?
