Title: I polished my disco!
Post by: muddyjames on April 24, 2009, 19:49:17
I am going to sell the disco very soon so have spent ages cleaning and making it look lovely. Today I have even polished it.  I know it isn't the "in thing" to do with land rovers but I think it doesnt half look good!!

I dont know why but the actual polishing didnt take long at all. About 20-30mins. It was the washing and chamiosing before that took the time!

still think you should give me the wheels ;)

Tel ya what col. If you buy the disco and I will throw in the wheels free for ya!  ;) Then you can put them on yours and then sell mine again.

flaming chelsea  tractor drivers

it is the first time in 3 years it has looked this shiney! When I bought it, it was for the sole purpose of off roading, bad weather driving and towing. I have another car for my day to day running around.

I have cleaned it in readyness to sell. So please dont call me a Chelsea tractor driver as I am certainly not one of them. Also I cant afford to live anywhere near chelsea and I hate football!!!  ;)

mine comes up just aswell, however i think you need a bit more practise... mines on the rear drive.. i`ll dig out the bucket! ;)

one think i think would make it look bettter is if you got some black paint on the rocksliders... they stand out far too much on a dark car!

..incidently waxing a landrover its one of the best things you can do!

-mud slides/washes off easier
-tin worm doesnt like the taste as much
-trees/bushes tend to slide over paintwork han scratch it
-less air resistance thus better MPG ( ;) )
-sunroofs tend to seal better and for longer

theres method in the madness afterall, must confess, i polish mine for 2 reasons, MOT time and sale time!

I'm almost tempted to clean mine....but then I think of that list of jobs
P-Gasket, brake discs, rusty bumper, rust bubble by the alpine window, I really ought to do them first

I did the P Gasket...and I washed, polished the outside and cleaned and hoovered the insides....it didn't hide the scratches.  If anything they show up more, the mud filled them!

What's wrong with polishing your Land Rover - mine gets a fairly regular go!
