hope some one can help,
i have a very early 90 2.25 petrol and after checking engine numbers mine comes up as 11Hxxxxxx 90/110 petrol 2286cc 8:1 CR (detoxed)
what does the detoxed bit mean?
does it mean it can run on unleaded?
look forward to your replies.

never heard that before!!! maybe it means that its nice and clean on the inside?!!
-
its something to do with the emissions, basically to make the engine pass emissions they detuned it slightly
-
so if they de-tuned it, does that mean i can re-tune it and get a little more out of it?
do you think it might have some thing to do with recycling exhaust gas or engine breathers?
cheers
-
it possibly might be simular, mine was very very close to failing the emissions and the cylinders were well worn
cheers kieran

wow
someone else with a 11h engine
now your fun starts
11h is a 2.3 cc engine built between the 2.25 and 2.5
some parts fit from the 2.5 and some from the 2.25 (still with me)
Change the distributer for a lucas 2.5 and time by ear for the best setting.mine very good on petrol (dont use any as it gas converted)
change the points for electronic.

whats the best electronic kit to go for Lumenition? are they easy to fit?
what timing mark did you use to set the timing when running on unleaded.
sorry for all the Qs but theres not many people with the 11h engine.
thanks in advance
