Hi guys
i been trying to remember the name of a 4X4 that was made in romsey hants (i think) from what i remember it was made in the 80's and was fitted with a perkins engine (dont sure which one).
It also had chrysler axles fitted to it with free wheeling hubs and one thing that sticks in my mind was it had three windscreen wipers across the front and was A BIG 4X4.
can anyone remember it or got pic's?
Many thanks Nick
p.s. sorry it not much info to go on

did it look like it was "almost" a landrover?
If so I've only ever seen one - I delivered a saw bench to a guy and he had what sounds like you're talking about - yankee running gear and a big diesel engine, though his was a VM but he said it might not be original. sorry don't know what it was called though

Or
There was a vehicle that looked like a cross between a Stage 1 V8 & a Jeep Cherokee in the early 80's. but on a slightly bigger scale.
It ran a choice of Perkins(??) diesel, or a GMC petrol V8
Wasn't it called a LandRanger - before that name was used for the Range Rover pick-up conversions

I have found out what it was and it has been bugging me for ages, it was a landmaster 4X4

It is indeed, I have a couple of the original sales brochures/'pull-outs' in one of my cupboards, I got them from the dealer (at the time) in Leeds; Arnold G Wilson (who were also the LR main-dealer)
They weren't a 6x6 though, just 6x4
