What kind of oil pressure should I be looking at for my RRC, just fitted an internal oil pressure gauge and was wondering what it should be
-
15psi @ idle, 35 max anywhere else.
Any good?
-
That seems ok then, mine sits at 20 at 900rpm,
Cheers
-
Quite a high idle TBH, any reason for this?
-
If I am in park it sits at 900rpm. If im in drive with the brakes on its sits a lot lower. Its always been like it.
-
Might be time to re-set the base idle in that case, simple enough job, Haynes has the procedure for doing this.
-
ive just done the same to mine and mine also sits at 20psi at 760 rpm (on megatune)
mine goes up the higher i rev mine to about 60 which with other cars ive had gauges in seems normal
-
Autodata states....... 2.1-2.8 bar @2400 rpm on 3.5 efi ;)
Mine just puts the oil light outt
-
V8s do run with quite low oil presure, limited partly by the drive gear on the dizzy.

What model gauge did you use and where did you plumb it in? any chance of some pics as I was wondering about fitting such an item as I never did like trusting a simple on/off warnig light!!
Cheers

Depending on the model year there are 3 tapping in the oil pump, be careful as one is the prssure relief valve.
