Is it a series 3 with a defender front end, or a range rover hybrid?
-
not sure its at www.douglasvalley.co.uk just checked its got a 200 tdi engine but NO v5 think i'll give it a miss
-
That company have had that landy for sale for a long long time

It's year of registration is 1974, which could make it a Series III hybrid, or a 2 - door Range Rover hybrid with a chopped down chassis. I think it is the latter.
I can't comment on what has actually happened to that truck, but FWIW, my opinion is that if you look at the rear view of the truck, the nearside tyre doesn't protude out from under the wheel arch as much as the offside one. It also looks as if the chassis may be twisted from the impact, but it is hard to tell from images. It looks, again personal opinion, like its had a TA impact on the front offside wing.
That would tie in with it being an insurance Cat C write off, which is "An extensively damaged vehicle which the insurer has decided not to repair, but which could be repaired and returned to the road. !.
Go to www.dvla.gov.uk for more information.
My opinion, for what it is worth, is its best left alone, but as with all these things, you can't tell before you go and see it.

Hard to tell but it doesn't look like it's on leaves, so why build a RRC hybrid that;'s not tax exempt?
Agree the damage looks like more than a dent, the RH wing is twisted as is the Abar, so it's had a shunt. If there is no V5 then there's a chance the V5 has been surrendered and you can't re-register it.
I'd say there are better cars out there for the money, the market is slow so keep looking.

The description says it is tax exempt. I doubt it'd get through a VIC with those plates, or the chassis number it's probably using. I'd also hazard a guess that's it's never been anything other than a defender. So that makes it a bit of a ringer. Wants crushing really.

incidentally this can sometimes mean the car has been repaired to a better standard then when it left the factory.
just thought i would throw that into the equation.

Think it has been over on its side as the top of the window is badly scraped and roof rack bent.
Definite questionable history.....

has been on and off ebay for months,he can't give it away ;)

Shame :( It was a nice looking motor, his best bet would be to strip it for the parts but it looks like he can afford to wait for some victim to buy it thinking it just needs a wing and applying for a new log book

Yep. And I'm sure someone out there will be mug enough to buy it.

Might be a source for bits to build a new one? But then again £1700 is probably more than you'd pay for them elsewhere.
