Hi all, a little while ago im sure i read that someone had used an air conditioning pump as a compressor. Is this possible, and if it is can i fit it to my 2.5 nad?????? :D

I agree, i have seen soewhere that someone use an air conditioning compressor as a compressor. However an a/c compressor needs a supply of oil which cirulates around an a/c system with the gas. So i don't see how using it as a compressor is possible as it would dry out and seize.

Depends on the unit.  Some of the earlier RR units had an oil reservoir.  Some of the later ones can be fitted with a grease nipple to lubricate the bearings.

It's a lot of fannying around unless you have a real need for it.   If it's just for tyres, then a decent 12V compressor is a lot less hassle.
