Can any one piont me to where, the Chassis numbers on RRC are, I have a 1972 and trying to repair it
-
Hello mate,
You'll find the chassis number stamped on the front off side of your chassis,
Locate the four bolts that bolt the power steering box onto the chassis and in the middle of the bolt heads you'll find the chassis number, you might have to scrape off years of grit & grime but that is where you'll find it.
It should also be on the VIN plate on the front panel underneath the bonnet on that age RRC.
Cheers,
Ron.

Thanks, i have the VIN plate number that was on the front panel, will have a look see if i can see them .

Up till 1979/80 the chassis is not stamped
-
O thank,s will have a look
-
The easiest place to find it is on the V5
-
My '72 & '79 RRC's were stamped in the above mentioned places,
I am told they also have date and chassis related numbers on each axle.

The axle number can identify when they were made but I'm not sure they tell you to which vehicle.
Anyone needing help identifying such things (assuming the axle number didn't rust away 20 years ago) look in your Rimmer Brother's Catalogue for the codes and such.
