Title: Bonnet Cable Thingy
Post by: MTyrrell on March 23, 2005, 22:06:06
Dose anyone know if the bonnet release cable should come with the cable clamp, I brought a new cable expecting it to have a clamp but no such luck.

Cradock’s have what I assume is it listed as Nipple for Bonnet Cable. Is this what i need? It's the bit that attaches the cable to the mechanism.

See Pic for cable clamp thingy

Or you could make one with a small nut & bolt.

If you are not bothered so much with the security side of bonnet release from within the vehicle, you could always fit external clamps/pin kits

Cheers paul, ill give it a try tomorrow.

Like the idea with the nut and bolt ill have a go at drilling a bolt on the pillar drill at work, bit too fiddly to do with a hand drill.

Daz, had a look at halfords and the bike cables are all crimped on now, will nip up to the bike shop by me and have a look.

Helen, same here, have been putting my hand through the grill to open it but whilst I have her in bits thought I’d fix it.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. :D
Matt
