Hi folks i'm looking at getting another motor and usually go with my gut feeling, but have spent most of the night questioning a car that i want to buy. Don't ask me why but.....,so looking on the net prices for checks seem to vary quite a bit. £3.99 for the DVLA or £19.99-£24.99 on AUTOTRADER. Please help, cheers Andy.

I would go by my gut feeling BUT, make sure the V5c is in the owners hand so you can check the details of the car and owners address. No V5c walk away.People now tell you a sob story about the V5c and when you apply for it you find out the car has had an accident or been written off and now requires a VIC check that costs £41.00 for you to get the said document. Have a happy walk in a minefield.
