my 110 td5 dosent have a rear anti roll bar fitted, id like to get one at the lrw show this weekend as i also want to get some perfomance upgrades. is it worth getting an uprated one or the standard one? if an uprated one is better is a particular one recomended?

I've got an old 110csw, took my rear anti roll bar off so I could get more articulation, especially as in Wales laning I went in a ditch and the roll bar reversed it self on the ball joints and wedged itself, if you ar going offroad I would leave it off, sure others have other ideas!

thanks, think i might not bother, or maybe get one and just put it on on long trips, as its just a nut and bolt job.

I took mine off the 110. Far less creaking and groaning when the axles were twisting. And I hardly noticed the difference on the road.

What's different in design about an uprated rear anti roll bar, polybushed or more to it?
I took the anti roll bar off my 110csw and like said you hardly would know the difference unless you tried to find it. I wanted to know what to expect so going hard around a roundabout I found the normal body roll would get to a point and then suddenly dive/pitch and could be a surprise to the unwary. With that in mind the anti-roll bar may be a benefit in extraordinary manoeuvres on the road at speed, like accident avoidance.
I didn't find much difference offroad around here with or without it. I think the gain in articulation is minimal, though I didn't specifically measure that difference so would like to see the figures of someone who has done that experiment.
I have since changed the roll of my truck from a heavy greenlaner to nano-expedition/medium greenlaner, so have put the rear anti-roll bar back on to help with the raised CG loading arrangement in the rear and roof rack. In that circumstance putting the bar back on was quite noticeable allowing a more relaxing ride at an increased speed.

I put one on mine!
But then again, a couple of kayaks on the roof does make a difference to the handling. :shock:

Yeah, I have twin ARB on the back of blue but it's a V8, has a LPG tank in there, We have 2 GSDs and I tow quite a lot.
That said my tow barge is the LSE nowadays, that has a double-thickness ARB which is way more than twice as stiff, it handles about as well as 2 tonnes of off-roader will without compramising it's articulation (http://www.mud-club.com/galleries/Range+Rover+Blues/EAS/0/296e3382344d5467f592e8171192e510.JPG/QWdhaW4gdGhpcyBpcyB3ZWxsIHdpdGhpbiB0aGUgY2FwYWJpbHRpZXM=).

After what happened to gresh I'd be very wary of removing an anti-roll bar, especially on a CSW with the Boge leveller, which is the main reason for having them, the centre pivot effect it causes isn't good for stability on road...

ah, as a point of note my experiences with ARB on or off were with long after the CSW soft springs have been replaced with HD springs and counterpart shocks all round (and a defunct boge unit)
