if your motor grosses at 3500kgs then its 3500x1.5 = 5250kgs - not sure what that is in lbs.

My little 90 is 2700kgs gross so, 2700x1.5=4050kgs , I know that my winch is 4310kgs or 9500lbs.

this is just a guide - hope this helps

I would think that it will be much different from 90,  if you go for a 9000-9500lbs winch you should be just fine

a stock disco is about 2000kg give or take

i had a 8000lb winch which pulled the disco out of alot of stickky situations

i have a 9000lb winch now

Kerb weight of a RRC EFi is 1927Kg but that includes drver and full tank.  The don't forget the weight of all the c**p you carry and the winch itself.
Advice is usually 1.5 to 2x the weight of your car in line-pull (remember this is quoted on the first layer of rope too) to account for all the mud that will be clinging to your car by the time it's stuch fast.  If I remeber right it's roughly 2,250lb to a tonne.  (100kg=16stone if that helps)

1kg is approx 2.2lbs, so it will be 5250 x 2.2 = 11550!!!! Seems a little on the high side for a winch. I think the 9500lbs size will do

My superwinch husky is a good one, dunno the specs on it but dragged me out of the soup a few times, and also a rangy out of a 45 degree nose down bomb hole, struggled with that a bit but did it, my disco is well over the 2 tonne line, althoug got to weight it sometime again with the gear in the back
